Bio
Amor La’nae Williams, affectionally known as Amor, is a Baltimore, Maryland native singer/songwriter, who is best known for her soulful voice and inspirational spirit. Amor began to explore her passion for music at a very early age. She learned to play three different instruments; clarinet, trombone, snare drum and began writing poetry and songs to express her thoughts in a more creative way. Once she began to share her vocal gifts, friends and family insisted she perform for churches all across the city of Baltimore, and she did.
SAmor's music is inspired by her life as a mom living in Baltimore City. She uses songwriting as a way to heal from tragedy. In May 2017 she experienced a life altering event. Her husband, Tyrelle was a victim of gun violence in Baltimore City. She was 8 months pregnant, and the news was devastating. However, that tragedy brought a new sense of purpose to her music and her career. Amor returned to music, and in December 2018, released the visuals for her single “Over You”, produced by BJR. The video and single continue to receive rave reviews, with many of her fans describing it as a timeless female anthem. In 2021 she released her EP, "I AM AMOR" where she worked with producers BJR, Nate Lanzino, and Donte' "Durag" Speaks. The EP includes "How" which is a soulful ballad that provides a raw and honest peak into the emotions she felt losing her husband and having to raise their daughter on her own.
Amor was also the subject of a short documentary film titled; Amor produced by Ground Media. The film has been shown at various film festivals and in 2023 was named the Best Short Documentary in Metro DC from the DC Independent Film Festival.
Her music has been her refuge. There is so much more to come for her as an artist and she is excited to have her fans continue to be a part of her journey.
